Hollywood Undead grew up in Tinseltown San Jose Mercury News

It's not blunt to recognize the attraction of Hollywood Undead among its predominately young fan base. There are elements of intense rile, danger and uninhibited sexuality coursing through songs like "Undead" that surely appeal to the insubordinate spirit of some teenagers. It also helps that the members, all in their early to mid-20s, aren't that far removed age-wise from their followers.

The sort's music is also multifaceted enough to have fairly broad appeal. Some tracks possess a corrosive rap-industrial finished profile. There are also tunes that are more melodic. There's even one song called "Young," written by Johnny 3 Tears, that is meant to arouse kids to persevere through inevitable hard times.

"The beauty of the band is that we can do songs that are so different from one another," Johnny 3 Tears says. "But Hollywood Undead is so individualized that in the end it all sounds like Hollywood Undead. We can good of go in any direction. Being able to do that is so special for an artist."
