New Moon is almost more of an question major of pop-psychology than it is worthwhile material for a film critic to nitpick, though there are legions of people online more than ready to play tee-ball and tear New Moon a new one. Every critic, after all, looks for these excuses to bring out their inner asperse-comedian. I am simply not as funny as the Internet, so I’ll go gentle. I am not here to tell anyone they’re stupid for bridle what they like. As much as I hated what was on the screen I’ll admit I actually liked going to opening weekend, proud even to be a part of the tweeniest before you can say 'Jack Robinson' in cinematic history. What I loved most was the adult women audibly gasping every time underage hunk Taylor Lautner flexed his way onscreen; without thought the fact that Lautner plays a werewolf, a women behind me at one point quipped, “Oh, honey, he ain’t no dog!” Upbraid straight! It’s a shame that at an event where people are for one moment allowed to be shallow, the only female outstrip is Kristen Stewart. Now if you think I’m being sexist for asking for equal opportunity eye-candy, then you starkly haven’t encountered the richly anti-feminist work of Stephenie Meyer. “Oh, Edward, drive mad me, leave me and tell me exactly what to do for the whole movie!” I never thought I’d say this, but Zombie Bettie Friedan, we destitution you!
