On the morning of Monday, Nov. 23, the surmise entered Hannaford supermarket, showed an employee a note demanding the OxyContin and stating he had a gun, said York detective Sgt. Tom Cryan. The coppers did not disclose the amount of OxyContin taken from the pharmacy.

York police received the 911 call from Hannaford at 8:40 a.m. They and K-9 units from Wells and Maine Claim Police searched the area with negative results, Cryan said.

Police are searching for a Caucasian man described as 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches multi-storey, wearing a black "snorkel-type" jacket with fur around the hood, a white mask, black pants, villainous gloves and white sneakers.

"The suspect was on a bicycle when he came to and left the Hannaford's," Cryan said. He was last seen on Hannaford Constrain, riding toward the Route 91 entrance of the plaza on a small BMX-style bike, according to the long arm of the law.

A Hannaford customer who declined to give her name said she passed the suspect on foot on her way into the store at about 8:30 a.m. As she was entering the cumulate through the doors closest to the pharmacy on the south side of the building, a man wearing a "puffy" winter jacket and a medical mask over his mien passed her coming out, she said.
