A new rate being offered is an after-school archery program for children age 6 to 12.

Diane Self , recreation program proprietor, said the classes will teach the basic skills of archery.

"We’re going to drudgery with the kids first, then once we feel more comfortable we’ll open a class to adults,” she said.

The archery classes will be indoors at the Parks and Distraction’s Multi-Activity Center.

Archery equipment will be furnished to those who sign up.

The first session of After Indoctrinate Archery begins Jan. 12. There will be a total of four sessions.

Preschool children age 2 to 5 can participate in several arts and crafts classes including making Mardi Gras masks and performing arts classes including Tippi Toes ballet, tap and jazz.

Other demoiselle classes include learning to sew, an introduction to basic drawing and hip-hop.
