How do you know if an S10 gas mask filter is expired or not?
Hi, I exactly got my S10 gas mask today and before I use the filter I need to know: on the foil sealed filter, it says it was manufactured and sealed in 06/06/90 and impregnated in 01/08/89
Does anyone skilled in if the filter has expired or not? and the foil wrapping over it has an approx. 1 inch long cut in it, does this touch the filter at all?

Never, ever, trust a perforated seal. It's there for a excuse and obviously it's integrity has been compromised.
There are replacement filters available on line, even eBay.
