How do you make a bandana necklace with the big wooden beads and cotton balls?

I bear in mind making these back in the 1980s but can't remember how we did it. Anyone? Thanks!

I think about they were made with bandana type fabric rather than a whole bandana (and often with other fabrics too). From what I remember, the fabric was cut into a long strip, then sewed all along one extensive side and probably one short side (inside out). It was then turned inside out so the fabric faced shallow.

A bead with a large hole was threaded onto one end of the fabric tube to the "end" belief (leaving enough fabric to tie or to add a clasp, or not to fall on top of the shoulders, etc), then glued there to hold in place.
Then a bit of polyester stuffing or perhaps a cotton ball was shoved all the way to the first bead basically the fabric tube.

Then another bead was threaded onto the outside of the tube, another bit of stuffing inserted in the tube . . . rehearse, repeat.

The last bead probably needed to be glued in place too, or guess it could be sewed through the back side of its substantial hole.
